The show follows an anxious personal trainer who always seems to get it wrong in a modern comedy drama. We're led through the life of Andy Peacock, and his struggles in his professional and personal life, he comes across as unlikeable in many instances, but his humanity and longing for connection creates an intriguing character. His insecurities are easy to spot with his obsession over his appearance and status. He looks smug driving around in his Audi, occupying a position of relative seniority at the gym, but this is a front for everything that's failing. His best friend a lifeguard, a quiet, kind, thoughtful man, embodies everything Andy isn't on the surface, but clearly characteristics he values. His competition, Jay the other personal trainer, outperforms him in looks, strength and popularity. Andy's three major obsessions in which he believes he'll find peace once mastered. Making for a relationship that constantly undermines Andy's ego.
